More Contest Details

We know this sucks. For the BustIt 3.5 contest, we wanted to automate the submission process (after you have earned all 90 achievements). Unfortunately, Apple does not allow us to send device and Game Center user information across the Internet. So you will have to manually sign-up on our website.

Play BustIt 3.5 And Win An iPad2!

We're going to run a contest alongside the BustIt 3.5 launch. When you earn all 90 Game Center achievements, you can enter your name in a draw for an engraved 16GB Apple iPad2. Anybody can win and you do not need to buy the app!

More On B3.5 Awards

Here's what you need to know about the Awards/Achievements in BustIt 3.5:

- There are 9 for each level (90 total).
- Each achievement is designed to reward skill, speed and other gameplay objectives.
- You must enable Game Center to earn them.
- You can view your progress on the Scoreboard inside the app, or in Game Center itself.

They really do add some higher-level goals and excitement to the game. So we hope you enjoy them!

Awards Coming Along

It's amazing how long it takes to create 80+ awards in iTunes. But they do look amazing!

2000+ Game Center Users

Good to see the Game Center community growing!

Welcome Australian Players!

Half of all BustIt players are from outside North America. The app is very popular in Greece, Germany and the UK. We had a small following in Australia until this morning - the iAd requests are off the charts. It's exciting to see BustIt grow!

Twitter in BustIt 3.5

The Twitter integration in B3.5 looks and works fantastic. At the end of the game, you can tweet your score and achievements. Tweeting adds a "compete with your friends" ingredient to the game that we tried to achieve with APNS notifications in B2 and Game Center in B3.

Deep Space Photos

Somebody sent us some amazing deep space images. They look fantastic and it would be nice to share them with the blog readers. Please let us know if we can share them!

BustIt + iOS5 = Awesome!

BustIt 3.5 is looking great under iOS 5! The new "look and feel" of the Apple user interface compliments the game.

We've also created a new theme for B3.5 called Lunar Glow. It's very polished and subtle - you will spend more time admiring the animation of the bubbles. You can access the new theme in the game settings.

The New Icon

The new icon looks great in Game Center and on the App Store application on your device, but it's not attracting new users in the iTunes store. So back to the drawing board!

Badges In B3.5

The next "big thing" in BustIt will be achievement awards (aka badges). We'll start with some simple ones that reward in-game play, points and level progress. The intent is to add more badges with each release of the game to keep people interested and playing.

Highest BustIt Score Recorded

Congratulations to "inyerzeta", who has set the all time high score in BustIt. 16,062,700 points! This score is so mind-blowing that we will have to update the app to display a number this long. No kidding.

We can't access user information in Game Center, so if you are this player - please contact bustit@nsctech.com. It would be nice to talk to you!

BustIt in iPhone Life

Look for BustIt in the holiday issue of iPhone Life magazine. We're told the writers are now big fans of the game! Thanks to Janet for all her help.

Virtual Game Tokens

We hope game developers will stop using In-App Purchases (IAPs) for virtual "tokens" in iOS games. These schemes make the app deceptively expensive and will eventually kill the best software model: free with cheap options.

Apple Fixes Icon!

Our badly mangled BustIt app icon has been fixed and people have started downloading the BustIt again! For the kids and other iOS developers reading this blog, you always have to put your best foot forward in iTunes. You should devote a lot of time to this stuff because it really impacts your downloads and sales.
