Version 3.1 Available in iTunes

Whew. BustIt 3.1 is now available in iTunes. It includes "Classic" game mode (in the Settings), a new background and fixes the "white" screen bug that popped up in the multi-tasking environment. Thank you to the Apple's review team for getting this one out so quickly!

It didn't take long for the hardcore BustIt crowd to ask for the old look and feel. Who are we to argue? So we've added a "Classic" mode to the game in the Settings. For the people who love the new gameplay, there is a surprise waiting for you as well!

The New Bubbles

There have been a few questions about the new bubbles: the Switchers and Splashers.

Switcher bubbles, the ones that look like "fisheyes", change color when you select a regular bubble. They are not selectable by themselves. You can use them to clear single bubbles or build large groups.

Splasher bubbles have an "explosive" icon and add another interesting twist to the game. They allow you to convert regular and bonus bubbles to a particular color and inflate your score. You can control the splash color by dropping these bubbles. Double-tap them for the splash effect.

Another important note is multiplier bubbles can be chained together in B3. For example, two bonus bubbles have a 4x multiplier, 3 = 8x, etc. If you buy the Party Pack, you will be awarded Bonus Switchers when you pop 10 or more bubbles in one go.

Finally, if you clear all of the bubbles in a level, you will be awarded an extra 1000 points times the current multiplier.

B3 Available!

BustIt 3.0 is now available in the iTunes store. From now until the end of July, the Party Pack will be priced at $1.99. If you have already purchased the app, you will get all the new bells and whistles for free!

Music in B3

Asaguare deserves kudos for his contribution to B3. His rich and intriguing song, "Maat Mons" really adds to the atmosphere and pace of the game. Thank you Bjorn, you did it again!

Battery Life and B3

BustIt 3 employs a couple of techniques that your battery will love. A framerate throttle, which adjusts the speed of animation, and pre-calculated data (for shadows, explosions, etc.) combine to significantly reduce the workload of the game. So now you can keep playing, and playing, and playing...

The new version of BustIt is almost done!

Every facet of BustIt been tweaked, but the biggest changes include: a hint button, 4 new special-purpose bubbles, new sound effects, streaming music and Game Center support.
